The band are today doing interviews in the lovely rooftop bar of our temporary home for the week. We came upstairs and discovered that its snowing today, in London.

How lovely.
Although your London snow isn’t a patch on our Scottish snow… you know the phrase ‘winter wonderland?’…
THATs our snow.

Speaking of Scotland, we surprised ourselves last night, by being social animals, and taking to the town for an evening.

Simon, Ben, James, myself and our good friend Martin (of ex-aereogramme, and current team biff fame) took a cab from Soho to Hammersmith, to see Billy Connolly. And how we laughed. It was lovely to get a look at Hammersmith, prior to our show there in the Spring. The last time we were there, was about 4 years ago, when the band supported Velvet Revolver. Funnily, there was a poster up in the bar for that very show.

Seems like a very nice venue – its the same capacity as Brixton Academy (maybe a few hundred more actually) but from the crowd, I think it seems slightly less cavernous than Brixton, which is good… the band will certainly seem a bit closer.

Speaking of that tour, i think we’re almost all sold out now… last i saw, there were a hundred or so tickets left for Leicester and Portsmouth, and some seats in London, but thats about it. We’re particularly pleased and surprised that almost 4000 tickets for Blackpool Empress Ballroom went so quickly… Its very exciting looking ahead to that show, its such an impressive room.

We’ve announced our first plans for the USA as well.. We’ll be going over for a few weeks, on tour with Manchester Orchestra in March. I think they’ve announced their west coast shows, and the east coast leg should be announced in a few days. Also playing, are The Features and O Brother, who we aren’t yet familiar with, but with whom we’re looking forward to become acquainted.

Now, for some dangerous and confidential stuff…

It may excite you to know that we have now confirmed our first festival appearance for the summer of 2010… We can’t quite announce it yet, but I’m sure it will be revealed in due course. Its a good one though…

We’ll hopefully have some news for you very soon regarding the rescheduled Australian shows, as well as some more shows in the East, and some more US plans.

We’ll keep you updated if anything exciting goes down in the meantime. This morning, Ben has already revealed himself to be wearing pyjama bottoms beneath his jeans, because “I thought we’d be doing most of the interviews outside today”. Its a non-stop parade of decadence today…!

enjoy the snow.
