James hits the diary…

hello guys and gals, it’s james here.

the guilt has finally tipped the scales right enough, and yes i’ve strapped myself behind the keyboard to communicate some love to you all.

hello guys and gals, it’s james here.

the guilt has finally tipped the scales right enough, and yes i’ve strapped myself behind the keyboard to communicate some love to you all.

the reason for not doing the diary isn’t that i’m lazy. well actually i was about to lie to you there, that is the one and only reason. i’m a lazy bastard.

so, today we’re in manchester, and sadly it’s our last night with the devilishly handsome frank turner, and the slightly less handsome but equally talented yourcodenameis:milo. we just watched frank on stage and he dedicated queen’s ‘i want to break free’ to us. it was an amazing version and a very nice gesture to boot. thanks v. much brother.

i have to say it’s been an absolute pleasure having the boys out. we finally got a chance to have a few bevvies with the mighty milo last night at a pub called mr. lynch’s in their hometown of newcastle. we had a blast and got to meet some of their lovely friend’s. actually it was fairly civilised by our own standards, but i believe the milo boys got very messy at a house party afterwards. well done.

we’ll shall miss you all dearly. thanks for coming out.

manchester. we love manchester, it’s just like home – lots of rain. it’s does get annoying, however i suppose it makes you appreciate the sun that little bit more. tonight is the last night before a day off in aberdeen. the sketch with having a tourbus is that we drive through the night and wake up in the next town. bliss. a day off as i’m sure neil has illustrated is filled with not very much. sleeping, eating, not showering. all the usual.

so, the scottish leg is next. it will be one of mixed emotions. obviously the shows in scotland are such fun, but they will be tinged with sadness as it will be the last time we shall see aereogramme before they call it a day. it’s very difficult in words to describe the sadness that we all feel. they are such an important band, and it’s a huge injustice that they aren’t one of the biggest bands in the world. perhaps you could help us give them a good send off by getting down to the shows early and showing your support. it also wouldn’t hurt to pick up a copy of their astonishing new album ‘my heart has a wish that would not go.’ quite possibly the album of the year (until next week obviously). take care boys. we wish you all the best of luck with whatever you find yourself doing next. lots of love x

we shall also have the unbelievably good looking evan crichton opening in edinburgh and glasgow. seriously ladies. get down. again please offer your support to somebody making great music coming from a town near you.

as we come to the end of the tour, may i thank you all for coming down to the shows. we’ve really had a great time, and although sad that it’s coming to an end, we look forward to seeing the biffy massif at most of the festivals in britain over the summer months. love to all.
