It’s coming…

05/01/07

I’m excited about writing you up a full new diary entry, but unfortunately I’ve got a shitload to do, what with the new releases, the new tour, and, of course, the new fucking font, and not much time to do it in… so expect that in a few days or so…

hello fearless freaks… (there’s a fairly boring in-joke in that greeting)

TM Neil here, in the absence of the band, who are still climbing the everest of rehearsals for the tour…

I’m excited about writing you up a full new diary entry, but unfortunately I’ve got a shitload to do, what with the new releases, the new tour, and, of course, the new fucking font, and not much time to do it in… so expect that in a few days or so…

but a brief rundown of what’s been happening…

new website… we hope you like it… the messageboards will be made beautiful, as a present to those who deserve it. The devil inside me would like it to be left as it is, just to antagonise the 10 or so people who make it their life’s work to moan on that message forum, but since they are but 10 (in both number, and mental age) we will rise above. Well above.

what else…

the new album, I shan’t talk about, as it’s a wee bit away yet… not too far, certainly visible in the distance, but you can’t make out the markings on the outer shell just yet… I will say, however, the title is incredibly apt, and that the first time I sat and listened to it start-to-finish, I felt honoured and priveleged. My eyes were even a bit wet at the end.

Saturday Superhouse… February 19th I think it is… a fucking stormer. The video is being finished up, and sees the band in a rather more pleasant climate than Ayrshire. Not that Ayrshire’s not lovely… but you’ll see. My earlier in-joke pertains to this video incidentally.

The tour… It’ll be great. we plan to make the shows bigger and better than before, so this will be a step in that direction we hope. It’ll be incredible to see The Bronx every night as well. Can’t wait.
And yes, we’ll have new merch.
Which, I’d like to point out, will now all be fair-trade, and made under ethically-sound conditions (well… ethical, other than the poor harrassed merch company rep, who has to chase me to submit approved designs on time… that’s certainly unethical when it’s a sunday at 8pm).

New artwork… as you may have heard, Storm Thorgerson is doing the artwork this time around… I won’t give his resume, as you can find that out for yourself, and it would be wrong to look at the new biffy artwork, in the context of comparing it to other bands…

but fucking hell…

it’s looking amazing.

I’m not sure what else there is to report, as I’m doing this frantically, and on the fly (on a moving train, on a SideKick as it goes) but needless to say, things are now moving fast in Biffyworld, which is exactly how we like it.

Looking forward to seeing some of you on the tour… I’ll be the one with the ever-receeding hairline, looking stressed, on a mobile phone. Please say hello.

Also, if anyone knows how to sell merch on tour, get in touch… am I joking? we’ll see…

anyway…
I hope you all had a beautiful festive period,
we’ve missed you, and can’t wait to kick the shit out of 2007.

lots of love.x

ps. I just remembered, the band will be doing quite a lot of regional radio sessions over the course of the tour, so keep your eye on your local radio and on the website for updates, and you’ll be privvy to some lovely acoustic biff.
